Our Journey Through Central Java: Culture, Nature, and Ancient Wonders

After Yogyakarta, we headed north into Central Java, a region known for its deep cultural roots, stunning landscapes, and ancient temples.
We started in Magelang, home to Borobudur Temple . Watching the morning mist lift over this 9th-century Buddhist monument was unforgettable a peaceful and spiritual experience that showed us why Borobudur is so revered.
Next, we visited Solo (Surakarta) , the cultural heart of Java. We explored batik workshops, saw traditional wayang kulit and keris making, and walked through the royal grounds of Keraton Surakarta . A stop at Pasar Triwindu offered a glimpse into Java’s colonial past through vintage treasures.
In Semarang , we wandered through the revitalized Old Town area and enjoyed local dishes like tahu pong and lumpia a delicious end to a historic day.
